Defamation, Food, Omani Cuisine, and Twitter

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I haven’t been posting much lately, I don’t know, I’m not hving as much fun in Southampton as I thought I would before I came. It is not like I am having trouble or issues, but I am just not having as much fun as I though I would, yet I’m not sure if I should be having more fun. I’m not having any difficulties with my course, but I’m already tired of some of the reading, at times I go over prepared and at other times I just go to class without reading and BS my way through it. I slowly approaching my reading comfort zone, but I am not really there yet.

Anyway, I made a post on myITLawyer.com about online defamation and the liability of website owners from the British and Omani perpsective, I think that you should surely check it out if you are a blogger or if you run a forum.

I passed by Tesco on my way back from the library and I discovered that they are selling a cool looking sushi meal box. It was really cool, it came with the chopsticks, wasabi, and some soya sauce as well. I am not anexpert in Japanese food, but I thought that this was good.

Speaking of food, I moved the Omani Cuisine to the new server today, and I thought I’ll finally publicize the Arabic version of the Omani Cuisine. I kinda outsourced the translation, but did some editing myself. It does not sound as natural or as nice as the English version, but I thought that it will be nice to have it as a resource for Arabic speaking people as well. It does not have ALL the reviews, and I cannot be bothered to translate it myself, but hopefully when I finish my LLM and resume the Omani Cuisine we will make it bilingual then. For the mean time you can check what we have on it now at http://www.omanicuisine.com/arabic.

Some of your might have noticed my twitter feed on the side of my blog, Kishor also has one, I recently installed a cool Facebook plug-in so that whenever I make a tweet my status is updated on both my blog and my facebook profile at the same time. I use SMS texts to update my twitter status and that makes it really easy.

If you want to do this trick you will have to first get a twitter account obviously, then use the Twitter Badge to show your feed on your blog, and then install the Twitter Facebook application to link the two. You can then update your facebook and your blog status by visiting Twitter (or Twitter Mobile).
