Macbook Woes

I ordered my Macbook on Friday as you guys know cause my HP laptop started tripping.

Hours ago at WWDC, Apple announced new 13″ Macbook Pros to replace the aluminum 13″ Macbooks with better specs and at a lower price!!!

The ironic thing is that a friend of mine was thinking of buying an iPod touch and I told him to wait for WWDC because Apple might introduce a new iPhone (and consequently maybe a new iPod touch, but the former happened and not the latter), but for some reason I didn’t think about WWDC when I purchased my own laptop.

While WWDC was running, the Apple Store was down for the update, so I couldn’t check the status of my order and I knew if it went out I won’t be able to return it or replace it because it was a custom configuration. It was nerve wrecking.

I instantly checked the store right after WWDC finished and found that I still had the option to cancel my order, so I instantly did! AND IT GOT CANCELED.

I guess just I got lucky.

It will take about a week for them to refund me my money back, but I already ordered my new Macbook Pro this time. My original order was now at a lower price and had more features, so I thought I’ll upgrade the harddisk with a bit more space as well.

It will still take about ten days for it to be delivered to me. I think I will be able to survive.

I updated my HP’s BIOS firmware today, and my laptop somehow seems a bit better, but the problem is still there. The feedback I received from HP suggests that it is a problem that will require servicing the laptop. I will deal with that once I get my new one.

    Lucky you!
Am in love with my 13" Mac Book Pro :D
  • Hey Nabs, I am not going to switch entirely because some of my purchased applications are Windows based, so I will be installing Windows 7 on my machine and will probably move to Mac OS X gradually with time. I've been jumping back and forth between operating systems since Windows 7 came out. Regardless, I'm still very excited to get my new machine! :D
  • LOL.
  • Glad you managed to cancel, I watched the keynote presentation yesterday and as always mac are way ahead of the game. I already have a 13" macbook which I purchased 7 months ago and I'm very happy with it, it's just so great not to work on windows at all now seeing that the office uses macs, and i also use the iphone. I don't think I'll ever be using windows again willingly.

I hope you get your new macbook pro soon, it's just a much more sophisticated experience which i'm sure you'll enjoy.
  • (It's mutual Riyadh, They are looking for me too lol :P ) One day... I know, we will find each other and whn we do ... ho ho ho, I don't even want to tell you what will happen then ( will probably teach them how to play xbox ).

  • Hey Mo, I'm really sorry about the ads. I switched them on originally just for the purpose of testing and never got to switch them off. I don't really put ads on my blog for the reasons you mentioned. THEY ARE NOW OFF! :P lol.

(But aren't you looking for girls in Qatar? :P)
  • I am glad you managed to get your order cancelled :P

Listen, this is a bit offtopic but it really annoys the hell out of me. I couldn't help but notice that not only does your PERSONAL blog have advertisements (quite flashy ones) but the RSS feed itself has ads too. Now, this is your blog and you obviously can do whatever you want with it. But I honestly don't understand why you subject the readers to your personal blog to such flashy ads (one of the less flashy ones asked me if I was looking for girls in Qatar?! I know you don't choose the ads but still).

The way I see it, this personal blog does not provide a service. It does not cost you money to host or do it. You write in it when you feel like it about whatever you feel like writing about. And the readers to this personal blog are people who enjoy reading what you find interesting enough to write about.

These ads are annoying. Please consider what I said and if I managed to make sense to you, take them out and make this blog as amazing as I know it could be.
