Windows Vista? I’m loving it!

March 27th, 2008 | Posted in Uncategorized

I really hesitated before getting a new laptop because I read a lot of bad things about Windows Vista, I already invested in computer application license that will run on Windows, so Mac was out the question (Yeah, I know I can run Windows on Mac, but was the problem with Vista the hardware?)

Anyway, I eventually bought a new laptop last week and to my surprise I’m loving it. I got an HP Pavilion dv2000 running Home Premium on 4GBs of RAM and 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I tweaked it a little bit to remove the annoying Account Control – the thing that keeps on asking you if you are sure you want to do whatever you want to do.

It takes a while to get used to the new folder layout and stuff, but I guess that’s usual.

I am looking for a 14″ laptop bag, any advice on where I can one?

BTW, I bought this from Emax and I hated the experience, if I had a choice to buy it from anywhere else I would have, don’t buy anything from Emax if you have an alternative.

Cool specs. Especially the 4GB RAM ;) . How much did you get it for, if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ve also been hearing a lot of people complaining about Windows Vista, and I don’t know what all this fuss is about. I have been using Windows Vista since last summer and didn’t face any issues with it, even though I was using the smallest version (Home Basic) for almost 5 months and then upgraded to Ultimate. After I upgraded to Ultimate I just faced minor issues, but nothing major ya3ni.

    Ops… I almost forgot! Congratulations! :D

Thanks for your replies guys, I got the laptop for RO 550. I thought that it was a very good price for its specs and size.

Congrats BC … sure the specs is a killer :) .

I used vista for couple of month, but I could not take it as web system developer some of main feature IIS is pain in neck. Rather than that everything seem to be running just fine.

Stone’s laptop runs vista. It crashes a lot. Mostly it is driving us bonkers with it’s constant interruptions to ask if we really really really want to do domething. It’s like having a four year old inside my OS. How do you turn that off?

I spent five years updating my XP so it would stop crashing. Microsoft can have my XP when they pry it from my cold dead hands.

Suburban, you can deactivate that annoying warning feature by configuring your User Account Contrl in your Control Panel. Check it out. It might help!
