Shampoo Planet – Douglas Coupland

October 16th, 2008 | Posted in Books

Another month and another Douglas Coupland novel. Shampoo Planet is the second book Coupland wrote, it originally came out in 1992. The book title is mock at mad consumerism at the start of the 90s.

I like the character’s depth in Coupland novels, but at the same time he freaks me out with the cynical messages about life many of his characters express throughout his books.

I still need to read Generation X  - the first book he has even written, and Miss Wyoming – a novel he published in 2000, then I would have read every single novel he wrote in English (he has one written in Japanese, so I think I’ll skip that!!!).

  • :P If you want to read something more mainstream by him I suggest that you check "Eleanor Rigby", it is one of the few books found in Borders by him. You can check out jPod or Microserfs if you would like something different (though probably with too many web and IT culture references which you might not get if you are not a web geek).
  • you are confusing me which of coupland's to start with ?? :)
