Oman3D Podcast

(try not to look at the hand)

We had the big idea for making a podcast for more than a year, we bought some equipment and planned the thing, but never actually did it. Two days ago I woke up and decided to just go and do it, it was now or never. My Oman3D colleague Conceptoo and I got together at my place, wrote down what we wanted to say, and recorded it.

At the end, I realise that I probably made the world’s most boring podcast, I sound so dead I hate it. Conceptoo recorded an Arabic version which I think sounds so much better. Each of these podcasts is less than 5 minutes in length, we simply recited the latest headlines and articles we had published on Oman3D during the last month. We think that having a podcast is a great way for promoting our content in a new medium, we hope that it will attract visitors to our website through new ways.

We realised that nobody ever realises how he or she sounds to other people and that people might not even recognise their own voice when they hear it played unless they were told it was them. The voice inside our heads is never the same as what other people hear.

I’m sorry about the quality of my podcast, it took us 3 hours to get those 5 minutes recorded, it is so easy to start pronouncing words in the strangest ways in front of the microphone, and lets not even start with the weird accent peaks.

We’ll try not to sound more like speaking instead of reading next month!

Anyway, hope you enjoy the first ever Omani podcast, in English and Arabic.

Cool, great effort. Even I would like to do it in future. One suggestion: instead of downloading the MP3, it would be ideal if you could embed MP3 file to a player.

Thanks for your comments guys, will try to improve it with time!

I like the concept. It will very likely bring in more unique visitors ...

Just one small note; I really think there should be a back and forth between you and someone else when giving out the podcast, it will just make the podcast more lively.

Anyway, good job, wish you all the best.

yeah, I agree with hiamhere .. I guess the interviews you guys make would be more interesting if they were recorded! but yeah, that will require a lot more work.. as to prepare a meeting with the interviewee and choose a place and get the equipments and so on... it would be amazing though if you guys could do it.

Not bad at all for the first time! I've always been wondering will we ever get the the chance to listen to Omani podcasts?! That's really great!

I think it would be nice if you could podcast the interviews you make in Oman3d instead of just publishing them.I think people would enjoy listening to interviews more instead of just reading them(I would! )..i think it would be nice to listen to you guys in Oman3d where you answer questions or discuss some topics.

Anyway, congrats on your first podcast and looking forward for the second :)

BTW, that comment about your hand, really funny!! LOL!
