CLDP Conference on Commercial Law and Corporate Governance

January 28th, 2008 | Posted in Events

I attended the conference on commercial law and corporate governance organised by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the Department of Commerce of the USA (and supposedly the Ministry of Justice). All the speakers from the Ministry of Justice and the College of Law were so bad it was not even funny. The majority of the American speakers were real experts of the things that they were talking about. I thought that the majority of the topics were way too deep and complex for such a short programme, I still learnt new bits about Lending Law which I didn’t know much before though.

One of the American bankruptcy judges was so nice she gave us a music CD. The CD was for one of her ex-colleagues at work who decided to pursue a musical career after he left the legal profession. We thought that it is was very nice of her.. don’t know if the long-bearded judges appreciated a compact disk filled up with the works of the devil.

    Ha. that's a good image.

    They must have felt conflicted.

Thank you for the gift, may I burn it now?
