All Families Are Psychotic – Douglas Coupland

Urgh, I hate it when I abuse something I really like. I am devouring the books of Douglas Coupland like a box of candy that I cannot get enough of. All Families are Psychotic is a contemporary novel telling the story of the Drummond family, an American family of divorced parents,a astronaut daughter, an newborn Christian son infected with AIDS, and another son in a relationship with a woman whose name has no vowels. The story develops as a few members of the family step into this job they have to do in order to get money to solve all their problems. The book is hilarious, the characters are amazingly unique, and yet the book has so many messages and ends up with a really beautiful finale.

4/5

PS. I bought the book from Amazon.co.uk and got it delivered by Al Manahil.

Thankfully, MMK has recommended the book Anonymous Lawyer to me, which I now ordered. (I couldn’t help it but order another book Douglas along with it though!)

Thanks for passing by Meticulousness, for some reason all the notifications that I receive for comments you make are caught by the spam filter. It is probably the nickname.

By the way, there's a movie release of 'The Kite Runner' this year.
