Elissa Performance @ Muriya Launch Event

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Muriya Tourism Development (a company jointly owned by OTDC (Oman government owned company) and ORASCOM) launched their massive tourism integrated complexes projects for Jebel Al Seifah and Salalah last night at the Shangri-La.

We are all sick and tired of Muriya at work as their project had been haunting us at work for months and months (People and the Ministry of Tourism can’t do anything on their own) , however, we all wanted to go to the launch event just to see Elissa, and thankfully it was worth it. Because of the private nature of the event there were no security whatsoever and we were able to stand right in front of the stage taking photos and videos of Elissa. We were literally in front of her. Anyway, I think that my opinion of her performance would be biased as I am a big fan of Elissa, but yeah, I enjoyed it!

I even took one of those crappy live concert videos. My copy of it is actually so much better than what I uploaded here cause I messed up with the quality and couldn’t bother to re-encode. Enjoy!

Slow Sunday

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

I really hate Sundays because there is barely anything to read on the Internet.

I just felt like saying that to the world.

Web Life on the Go – Opera Mini 4

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

For those of us who consume the internet on the go, the latest version of Opera Mini is officially out now. I have been using a the built-in Nokia mobile browser for a while and I generally thought that it is very good. The only problem I have with it is the fact that you cannot change the screen orientation, my screen is tall and thin so reading on it would be easier if I can rotate it, and this is possible to do using the Opera Mini browser. The new browser also uses the same rendering engine as the full version of Opera, so it should be able display virtually all web pages. (Other than those which are not compatible with the full version of Opera to start with! Such as Google Notebook and other Google products.)

I noted that this browser is a bit faster than the built-in Nokia browser when it comes to rendering.

You can download Opera Mini for free from http://www.operamini.com/.

Oman3D Survey

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

We are in the progress of doing a major website update for Oman3d and we’re trying to improve as many things as we can this time. We have never carried out a members survey and we do not really know what OUR MEMBERS would like to us to do (regarding many things, tutorials, competitions, features, etc). We are going to give a DVD movie for one winner to be selected at random (the list of DVDs is on the last page of the survey).

If you visit Oman3D on regular OR irregular basis I hope that you help us by filling out the survey. (IT IS VERY SHORT).

On My Way Back

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Blogging live from Queen Aliya airport in Amman, I completed the
training programme I blogged about earlier last month. I learnt so
much in this programme on International Investment Agreements. The
event was run by the United Nations Conference on Trade and
Development who really did a great job. I didn't have much time to go
around as the daily schedule ran from 9 to 6, I still managed to see
Petra on the only day we day we had off and went to the dead see on
the last day. I took loads of photographs which I will post later.

I couldn't get a direct flight back, so I'm stopping in Qatar for five
hours. They have free wireless internet, so I might post the images
while waiting there!
