Urgh, I hate it when I abuse something I really like. I am devouring the books of Douglas Coupland like a box of candy that I cannot get enough of. All Families are Psychotic is a contemporary novel telling the story of the Drummond family, an American family of divorced parents,a astronaut daughter, an newborn Christian son infected with AIDS, and another son in a relationship with a woman whose name has no vowels. The story develops as a few members of the family step into this job they have to do in order to get money to solve all their problems. The book is hilarious, the characters are amazingly unique, and yet the book has so many messages and ends up with a really beautiful finale.

Thankfully, MMK has recommended the book Anonymous Lawyer to me, which I now ordered. (I couldn’t help it but order another book Douglas along with it though!)

I’ve recently made this tutorial for creating an interactive map in Flash recently, the demo movieclip came out really nice, you should check it even if you have nothing to do with Flash.

I previously said that I’ve been working on a mobile phone game, it’s done, kinda, I wanted to add so much more stuff to it, (online score board, etc), but I’m afraid that might take me sometime to get to do. So I thought that I’ll share the game at this stage. It runs on the standalone Flash Lite Player that comes preinstalled with the majority of modern Nokia phones, Walkman Sony Ericsson phones, and many others. Even if your phone does not have it, you can download the player for free from Adobe’s website here.

The game is optimized for phones with a portrait QVGA display (240x320px). The text might not be readable on smaller displays.

Majid Al Futtaim Investment applied in February 2007 for the registration of the trademarks for the words Qurum City Centre and Mall of Oman, the trademarks were awarded recently and were published in the latest issue of the Official Gazette that came out today.

Anybody heard anything about these projects? I did a little search and found a little piece about the Mall of Oman, but I’m not sure if it is the same one. There isn’t anything on the web about Qurum CC, but we’ve all seen the Carrefour sign that has been there for years. Looks like they are going to start working on it soon.
