Lyrics

Why are you all in my face
lately you on frequent myspace
you know I am not the type to low key creep around
you’re messing up on your way out

Always in my caller ID
looking for a place to catch me
this is crazy
boy you think we’re married
oh no
I”m just trying to breathe
and you’re just all over me

You’re oppressing me
fall back I need some room
you want this thing to work
I need you to do all the necessary things to keep me
But you just keep on pushing me
You’re about to barely be my boyfriend

……
Again you’re questioning me where about I’ve been
when I just left before ten
We are so preliminary
all this stress unnecessary
this is crazy
boy you think we’re married
oh no
I’m just trying to breathe
and you’re just all over me

You’re oppressing me
fall back I need some room
you want this thing to work
I need you to do all the necessary things to keep me
But you just keep on pushing me
You’re about to barely be my boyfriend.

I don’t remember “I do” nor saw a wedding ring
only a few months in
and I’m ready to leave
….
so what you think we’re meant to be
you’re just a boyfriend

You’re oppressing me
fall back I need some room
you want this thing to work
I need you to do all the necessary things to keep me
But you just keep on pushing me
You’re about to barely be my boyfriend.

The Real Story Behind the Search.OM Proposal

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

An article posted yesterday on CNNMoney.com titled ‘ the Man Who Owns the Internet‘, uncovered the real story behind the Search.om Oman proposal I wrote about last month.

Kevin Ham is a very big domainer, ie a person who is in the business of buying domain names of generic keywords, trademarks, and popular misspelled variations of these to make profit off advertisement placed on parking pages or by later reselling the domain names for huge amounts of money. This sort of activity is not illegal when it does not involve cybersquatting (the registration of a domain name that includes a trademark owned by another), but it is widely considered immoral as the domainer makes profit by the typos people make when trying to access popular domain names whose owners worked hard to make their website names popular.

This guy, Kevin Ham, has gone a step further in the domain name game and managed to convince the government of Cameroon to install the search.om-like-wildcard to make all traffic attempting to access unregistered domains under the .cm extension to be redirected to his advertisement filled website.

Millions and millions of people access by mistake unresolved .cm domains when trying to type a .com website. Kevin Ham is making crazy amounts of profit by taking advantage of typos of generic and trademarked words and proper trademarks that are not registered under the .cm extension. He is not strictly doing anything illegal in the traditional sense because he did not register any offending domain name (ie one that contains a trademark), but he is getting all the traffic from these websites because the trademark holder did not register the domain name. To cure the problem, the trademark holder would have to register the domain, which is, at least in theory but not necessarily in practice in Cameroon, something relatively easy to do.

Only the government of Cameroon can do something about this because it owns the .cm TLD. A few other countries in the world have a similar incidental advantage through typos, namely Colombia (.co) and, here it comes, Oman (.om), all of which are very common typos of the world’s most popular TLD, the dot com (.com).

Kevin Ham is obviously going to pay a lot of money to Oman, and he has apparently made an offer, but we should contribute to the unfair practices of such a shady business, he is clearly taking advantage of the greatest trademarks whose owners have not yet registered their domain names, he is would probably be misleading many visitors to think that they have visited the websites they attempted to access.

The .om TLD is a digital web gold mine, it is a national property, we do not need Kevin Ham’s money and should not let him have such control over it.

Life after God – Douglas Coupland

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Life after God is a book that really touched my soul, I really enjoyed every little bit of this book, it is amazingly short and sweet and it hits all the right places succinctly. I am officially a fan of Douglas Coupland.

Life after God is not blasphemous the way the title makes it sound, or to say the least, not as much, the book is a collection of eight short stories of individuals who were raised without religion living in a fastforward society and then have reached a hopeless point in their life. The book explores how each of these characters tries to survive through their sate of despair while trying to understand the meaning of life, love, and hope.

The book is really short, less than 300 pages, with a quarter of each page filled with a small drawing illustrating the scene. I really enjoyed the scene-based storytelling narration. This story is a must-read for fans of contemporary literature.

5/5

PS. I bought the book from Amazon.co.uk and got it delivered by Al Manahil.

The Blue Chi Brand

Monday, May 14th, 2007

I decided to change the name of my blog from Law & Music to Blue_Chi’s. I think that it is obvious that this blog is not about law or music. I am going to continue to write about whatever I decided to blog about, you are going to see a lot of stuff about the Internet, intellectual property, gaming, music, and some of the many other random stuff that I do

I’ve also been using my real name a little bit too much online lately it got me worried I might just lose my original screen name. Please feel free to call me and identify me as Blue Chi because that is the name that I would like to be known by – well, at least online.

Parasite Eve 3 – For Mobile Phones

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

Fans of the Parasite Eve game series were shocked and disappointed today by the announcement by Square-Enix of the release of long waited sequel to the game. The original Parasite Eve game was released in 1998 as a cinematic action RPG, it was an amazing game with a unique gameplay, intriguing storyline and beautiful FMVs. And after all these years, Square decides to release the game on mobile phones in Japan only. Mean while, Square-Enix continues to pump endless remakes and released of Final Fantasy games on all the consoles known to man, FF1 and FF2 are coming the PSP, after being released on the original NES, the PSone, the GBA, the Wonderswan and mobile phones. FF4 is going to be remade for the NDS after being released for the PSone and the GBA. I am, just like the majority of the fans, craving for a new Parasite Eve game, Chrono game, or even a Vagrant Story game on a modern console. Mobile games released by Square-Enix are never released outside Japan.

Omani Cuisine

Friday, May 11th, 2007

A friend of mine and I usually cook at my place every other weekend, so we thought we might as well start a little blog in which we can share our recipes and our other food related posts! Omani Cuisine is not about OMANI food only, in fact, we do not have any Omani recipes on it yet. We just have recipes of whatever food we make. We would also like to start posting some restaurant reviews of places to eat at in Oman, so you might see some of these soon. If you would like to contribute with a recipe or a review, please feel free to email to us at our cuisine email found on our website. Finally, I would like to confirm that all the photographs found on the Omani Cuisine website are of the actual food that we made, and no, I am not kidding.

You can now go ahead and check out the Omani Cuisine at http://www.omanicuisine.com/. Hope that you like it! :D
