Senses of Letters Graphic Art Exhibition – II

August 6th, 2005 | Posted in Uncategorized

I’ve been wanting to blog about this for since the time we posted our report on the graphic exbhition in City Centre titled “Senses of Letters” sometime ago. However, we were honestly glad to see that there is some sort of graphics activity going around and that there were some graphic design artists out there. However, the funny thing about this one is that the artist refuses to be photographed, he did not only refuse our request for a photo, but even in the newspaper, they did not put his photo, even in shots where he was right next to the guest of honour, they only said that this is the guest of honour and did not mention that the guy next to him is the actual object of the event (the artist!).

Another thing is that regardless of fact that it is his work IS artistic, his Photoshop-esque skills were not that great from our point of view, and that sounds even more strange when he told us that he is actually a graphic design teacher (We didn’t ask where, but that’s in Oman). And to make it even worse, how can a graphic design teacher not have a website for his own work?!

Anyway, it was a pleasure to read about such an event in Oman, we were really proud of the work that was exhibited and we hope to see more of these stuff out there in Oman!

You can read the report at this link.

I saw the exhibition, Went through his work but I just don't remember getting impressed, like how i got looking at his work online. I saw the '7ub' piece there and kept staring at it for an unknown reason but then i just left because his work for some reason didnot really win my attention, anyhow good luck to him and more of these great apportunities to come for our talented omanis...
